Upcoming Fee Changes
Two small rate changes coming with January billing statements.
Be sure to update your automatic payments.
Each year the California Public Utilities Commission (CPUC) evaluates and adjusts the fee they charge to all public utilities. This amount is figured as a percentage of the bill and is being reduced. 2024 was 0.7% and 2025 will be 0.68%, which is 84 cents instead of 87 cents.
Additionally, our recently renewed Intertie Agreement with Soquel Creek Water District now includes a $1 per customer, per month fee. This fee will show on your bill as a direct pass through fee. We do not keep any of this fee, nor do we charge the CPUC percentage on this. Soquel Creek begins charging us in December, but we will cover that first month. This keeps it simpler for you as there will only be one bill change.
Therefore, beginning with January water service, the new monthly flat rate will be $125.52.
Don’t Tuck the Flap!
The weather is getting damp and that brings some unexpected issues…
For those of you who drop your payments in the big green dropbox, we ask that you don’t tuck the envelope flap inside the envelope. With the damp weather, the flap sometimes sticks to the payment check, which can then ruin your check when we try to get it unstuck. Silly things, but many thanks for just folding the envelope flap the normal way.
